Todd A. Goergen
Todd is Managing Partner and Founder of Ropart Asset Management. He started his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette (DLJ) from 1994 to 1999. After leaving DLJ, Todd went on to become Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Blyth, a publicly traded home expressions company operating primarily in the home decor, seasonal decorations, and gift industry.
Todd serves on the Board of Directors of Genapure, Dimensions, iMergent, Heads and Threads, US Personnel, ViSalus, and PathConnect, and is the Chairman of Digital Traffic Systems. Todd received a BA in Economics and Political Science from Wake Forest University.
David L. Durgin
Dave has helped start up, finance and manage more than 20 New Mexico high tech companies of which several have been sold or taken public. He has held virtually every executive position in these companies including Chairman of the Board, Director, CEO / President, CFO and Vice President. Also during the last 10 years, Dave evaluated more than 500 business opportunities in New Mexico and provided literally hundreds of hours of pro bono assistance to entrepreneurs, start-up companies, and state and local economic development initiatives. He has served as a member of the New Mexico Governor's Technical Excellence Committee, been a Founder, Officer and Director of Next Generation Economy Corporation and has served as an Advisor and Sponsor of the Technology Ventures Corporation's New Mexico Equity Capital Symposium.
Durgin has 45 years experience as an electrical engineer, technical project manager, technical business developer, business executive, entrepreneur and investor. He designed, developed and manufactured advanced electronic systems for nuclear and conventional weapons at Sandia National Laboratories and was nationally recognized as an expert on mitigating the effects of nuclear environments on aircraft and missile systems. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of New Mexico State University with a B.S.E.E. degree. He was selected as a Centennial Outstanding Alumnus by New Mexico State University (NMSU) and is an Outstanding Alumnus of the NMSU College of Engineering.
Dave is a founding general partner of Verge Fund and also serves as a Partner in Phoenix-based Valley Ventures third venture capital fund. He was a founder and president of Quatro Corporation, New Mexico's first technology commercialization company and he founded Quatro Ventures LLC which is an “angel” investment company he spun out of Quatro in 1995.
David Ekern
Mr. Ekern, a professional engineer and career transportation professional, was appointed by Governor Timothy Kaine in September 2006 to lead the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). He completed his tenure in January 2010.
He focused his efforts on the future transportation system, reshaping VDOT business practices and reshaping the workforce. Significant in these efforts were:
»»» Initiating a $3.0 billion program on I-495/395/95 to reduce congestion by constructing the first-ever dedicated
»»»high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes in a set of innovative Public-Private partnerships.
»»» Undertaking the most extensive modernization of the Department’s emergency response system in its history.
»»» Restructuring the agency from 10,000 to 7500 employees.
» » And refocusing the agency on its core mission.
Prior to joining VDOT, he was Director of the Idaho Transportation Department, completed a 35 year career with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and worked with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.
He is a member of numerous professional associations and societies, has earned the standing of Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers, served on the National Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board Executive Committee and was member of the AASHTO Board of Directors.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.
Jonathan D. Shapiro, CFA, CPA
Jonathan began his career at Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Company, evaluating corporate loans. After FMAC, he joined UBS Investment Bank, advising corporate clients in Mergers and Acquisitions and Consumer Products & Retail in both New York and London.
Jonathan is the President and CFO of FragMob, serves on the boards of Digital Traffic Systems and iCentris (as Treasurer), and participates on the boards of ViSalus Holdings FragMob, MediaTrust, and PathConnect. Jonathan was previously the CFO and board member of Solution X Global and Nature Technologies (DeerTech).
Jonathan received an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MBA from London Business School. He received an MS in Accounting from the Lubin School of Business at Pace where he attended on scholarship. Jonathan graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers College, completing a BS in Computer Science in three years. Jonathan is a licensed CPA.
Jonathan is a board member for the CFO Alliance – New York, a member of NYSSA (New York Society of Security Analysts), the CFA Institute, the American Institute of CPAs, and serves on the board of his cooperative building in NYC. Jonathan is also an active marathoner and triathlete in Olympic and 70.3 competitions
Richard T. Hoke
Rich is an experienced executive with over 20 years experience in technology-based companies ranging from Fortune 100 companies to startups. Positions filled have included Founder, Engineer, Program Manager, Systems Manager, Vice President Business Development, General Manager, Chief Operating Officer and President/CEO. Rich has successfully built companies through the stages of formation to development to growth with a focus on Technology-based companies in the services and electronic manufacturing sectors. His expertise focuses on Systems Engineering, Operations Management, Financial Management, Technology Assessments, Business Development and Strategic Planning. He has in-depth market knowledge in Transportation Systems, Electronics, Electrical Services, Defense, Security, Surveillance, Software and Product Development and Manufacturing.
He has led Digital Traffic Systems (DTS) in attaining the New Mexico Technology Based-Company Flying Forty Distinction from 2004 through 2010. Companies that he led have been awarded the Honeywell Inc. Small Business Subcontractor of the Year, U.S. Small Business Administrators Award and the Department of the Air Force Small Business of the Year (Westar Engineering). He has instituted a systems engineering approach to developing innovative cost effective solutions to program challenges and maintains his technical currency through advanced studies and hands on project support which includes security systems, digital /megapixel video and solar systems design/installation.
Rich is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, the Defense Institute of Security Systems Management (DISAM) and has advanced studies at University of Southern California, Graduate Studies in Operations Research/Systems Management, University of Michigan, Strategic Planning and Webster University, Business Administration.
Peter L. Keen
Since joining DTS in 2003, Peter has helped guide the company's financial, operational and strategic development in support of our client’s business needs. Prior to joining DTS, Peter served as the President and General Manager of Peek Traffic, Inc. data products division, and as the General Manager of the Canadian subsidiary of Econolite Control Products.
Peter has built management teams and organizations focused on delivering premium products and services to commercial enterprises and transportation agencies. He brings broad knowledge and international experience in the traffic industry, including product engineering and development, sales and marketing, service/support strategies and program financing.
Peter is a graduate of the University of Toronto, with a B.A.S.C., Honors, Industrial Engineering, and Master of Business Administration; and Centennial College Center of Entrepreneurship - Profit through Exports Program. He is a registered Professional Engineer, Ontario, and a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and International Municipal Signal Association. Peter has been a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Highway Traffic Monitoring (ABJ35) since 2004 and currently serves as Chair of the committee. He also serves on an FHWA expert panel assisting with the re-writing of the Highway Traffic Monitoring Guide.
